The 2017 African Forum Leads Way Towards Greater Economic Efficiency, Dr. Mahtani Contributes


Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is among the most respected and famous business personalities in Zambia. He is noted for his business acumen, successful business establishments, leadership as well as social and philanthropic activities. He is also among a respected businessman among citizens, government and business houses. Some of the top companies established and still run under Dr. Mahtani’s leadership are Finsbury Investment, Mahtani Group of Companies etc. However, Dr. Mahtani is also an avid charity and social work which very few people are aware of. This is due to the fact that Dr. Mahtani does not like to boast his charity works or philanthropic activities unlike other businesses wherein these activities are specially conducted to gain PR and attention from the media and the masses.
Dr. Rajan Mahtani recently attended the 2017 African Forum Summit, an economic summit which is held in Zambia on an annual basis. Since its establishment, the summit has become a critical part of the economic development within Zambia. The summit has provided a platform for numerous businesses, industries and even the government to join together and resolve some of the burning issues within the nation. After the completion of the summit, the Chief Secretary of the event shared a press release to the public. In this press release, Dr. Mahtani was thanked for his significant financial contribution which resulted in the success of the event. Naturally, none of the participants were aware of his significant contribution and he is not the type of person to boast about his charities and social contributions.
Despite the recent attacks on him and his various hardships, Dr. Mahtani has continued his support for the Zambia growth and prosperity.

A critical decision was made by the Court of Appeal on 31 st January 2019. It was related to Zambezi Portland Cement factory, a cement manufacturing factory in Zambia. The factory was contested by two business parties for the past ten years during which, the case was transferred from one court to another and from one judge to another.
