High Profile Zambezi Portland Case Has New Development

As per latest reports, high-profile Zambezi Portland Cement case received a new development when the announced that case hearing has been closed. This is excellent news for Dr. Mahtani and his team who have been fighting for the legal rights of the factory for more than nine years. The case was launched after the Ventriglias allegedly took over the factory with the help of goons. Instead of using the same method, Dr. Mahtani rightfully used the court and registered the case under his company’s name, Finsbury Investment. Even though Dr. Mahtani had all necessary documents and evidence, the justice was delayed for a long time.

Various reasons have been stipulated for this long-pendency of the case at the Lusaka High Court. The sudden transfer of judges and unavailability is among the prime reasons. Every time a new judge is appointed for the case, it is started from scratch and takes a long time to come to the position which was already established by the previous judge. Another major reason was the tactics used by the Ventriglias to avoid court procedures by making excuses and not attending the case at all. While all these activities have been hurting Dr. Mahtani and his normal business dealings, the major loss was found at Zambezi Portland which has lost its productivity. Most of the workers have complained of non-payment of their wages and have left the factory. Assets have also started to corrode and the negligence of the Ventriglias in taking the case of the factory can be easily seen.

To sum up, the factory can only be revived and can see the light of growth if Dr. Mahtani wins this case and takes control of the factory.
