Case of Portland Cement Zambia Pending at Lusaka HC Almost Closing

Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been working in Zambia for many decades and has successfully built his empire from scratch. He is the owner of many notable firms such as Mahtani Group of Companies, Finsbury Investments and Finance Bank Zambia. All of his companies have performed extremely well and has maintained a clean image across the Zambian corporate and industry. It is because of his clean and honest nature, he is constantly being targeted by conspiracies and false charges by people whose livelihood depend on unethical and illegal activities. And at the top of them is the Ventriglias.


Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani owned the Portland Cement Zambia factory, before it was illegally taken over by the Ventriglias. When Dr. Rajan Mahtani launched the case at the Lusaka High Court, the Ventriglias defended themselves by saying that Dr. Mahtani did not pay for the shared he owns at the factory. Since then, it has been almost 10 years and the court has not been able to announce any judgment. During this time, Dr. Rajan Mahtani and his lawyers have submitted numerous evidences and documents that successfully prove his legal rights over Portland Cement Zambia. Some of them include signed shareholder’s agreement, financial exhibits and independent auditor report that clearly says Dr. Mahtani is the sole joint venture partner. The Ventriglias have not been able to submit a single evidence to support their claims.

The judge currently residing the case recently announced that the case hearing is closed, meaning both parties need to submit their final evidences in written and oral format. Post this evaluation, the judge will announce final verdict.
